Vegas people, it’s mileage run time on Frontier Airlines

Vegas lovers, Vegas livers, this week could be a good week to book a flight on Frontier Airlines.

Why?

Frontier announced a new promo today.

From today until Sept. 13, any Frontier flight you book to or from Las Vegas will earn you triple Frontier miles, as long as the flight is before Dec. 14.

Example:

Let’s say you live in Vegas and want to visit Tampa for a couple days, or vice versa.

Here’s a non-stop roundtrip with Frontier’s current 50% off code (SAVE50) applied:

According to my calculations, that round trip will earn you 11,898 Frontier miles (roundtrip mileage from LAS to TPA, times 3).

Here is the Vegas to Tampa fare calendar with code SAVE50 applied:

Frontier domestic award flights cost either 10k or 20k miles, so you could use this promo as a buy two, get one free.

Additionally, Frontier elite status requires you to earn only 20k miles in a year, so doing two of the above example flights would quickly and easily qualify you.

Here’s my review of Frontier elite status.

Usually bonus miles from these kind of promos don’t qualify for earning elite status, but Frontier specifies that these miles will count.

Frontier’s route map is tough to read because it’s so crowded, but here’s a link to it if you want to check out the routes to/from Vegas.

Here is a link to the promo page.

This promo is very generous for budget travelers near Vegas, and doing a mileage run or two would be irresistible for me if I lived there.

Here’s a post that explains more about mileage running.
