Frontier stoops to Spirit’s level w/ misleading promos this week

Spirit Airlines baited media outlets into providing free publicity a few months ago with a 99% off sale.

Huff Post even thought it might be “the deal of the century.”

In reality, it was an average sale from which a small percentage of people could actually get great value (due to fine print, excluded routes, and all the best deals being insanely long itineraries).

Frontier seems to be trying out this marketing method this month, offering three 75% off promos and three 90% off promos in August alone. Continue reading

Frontier is offering 90% off Florida flights, excluding many Florida flights

Frontier Airlines is going ham on sales this week.

After making headlines earlier in the week for 2-cent fares ($15 after tax), they brought back the 90% off sale today, this time on flights to and from Florida only.

There’s also a mediocre 50% off Florida sale, with additional dates.

Here’s everything you’d want to know about booking a Frontier flight over the phone

So this is a niche topic, so what?

Frontier gave me a $100 voucher recently because they canceled my flight three months out.

The voucher kept failing to apply when I tried to use it today, so I saw no choice but to call them up and try booking the flight by phone.

Crazy Frontier fare alert: SF-Orlando $20, one-way, non-stop, & vice versa

Amid the hoopla of Frontier adding dozens of destinations and routes today, they posted a surprising unannounced fare sale:

In October, you can fly non-stop between San Francisco and Orlando for only $20 each way.

This sale does not require Frontier’s Discount Den membership.
