I finally called up Citi today to cancel my beloved Citi Prestige credit card.
The $450 annual fee hit my account last week, and Citi recently cut one of my favorite card benefits (Admiral Club access when flying American), so it was time to say bye.
I told the automated system I wanted to close my card.
“If you would like to close, please say ‘close,'” it said.
“Close,” I replied.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t get that.”

California has gotten hit by several heavy storms this year, meaning lots of delayed flights in and out of SFO.
One of my recent flights from Denver to SFO got pushed hour by hour from 4p until past midnight, so instead of spending hours hoping the flight would happen I decided to re-book on Frontier’s earliest flight the next morning.
Even though the delay wasn’t their fault, Frontier gave everyone who wanted it a $15 food voucher to use at the airport.
The elevator doors slid open, and I stepped into the dimly lit oasis.
