We knew Uber would eventually stop being stubborn and add in-app tipping.
Today they finally gave in.
Here’s some info Uber sent out to drivers today:
Tipping is available starting today in Seattle, Minneapolis and Houston:

Tipping is the first step of this 180-day initiative that Uber hopes will make drivers happy.

Though it’s pretty simple, here is a page with a bunch of info on how tipping will work.
In a previous post we started a poll asking whether you are for or against in-app tipping from Uber. Go here to vote (includes geographical results).
Bottom line for riders: This will make things much less awkward, as drivers won’t know whether you’ve tipped them or not.
If you want to tip, you can. If you don’t, you don’t have to.
