Here are 3 myths about Frontier Airlines:
1. Myth: Their seats don’t recline.
Truth:
The Stretch seats in the first few rows of the plane do recline. There is a small red lever under your seat, on the right side, though I’ve noticed most people sitting in Stretch don’t know about it.
Three ways to get Stretch seats: Either purchase “The Works” upgrade, which comes with a Stretch seat, a checked bag and a carry-on bag for around $60, purchase the seat at booking for around $25, or earn Frontier Elite status, which allows you to select your seat for free.
2. Myth: They charge for every bag, including a carry-on bag
Truth:
They do charge for the standard size carry-on bag, but your personal item is free.
Pretty much anything that you can shove under the seat in front of you can be considered a personal item, so pack light with a backpack or handbag and you’ll be fine and free.
3. Myth: They charge you for water and gouge you for coffee
Truth:
Water is free.
As for other refreshments, they have a combo for $4 that comes with a coffee/beverage and a quarter-pound bag of locally sourced Colorado trail mix. Not a bad deal.
