Yesterday we got offered 500 free Hilton points for opting into an email.

Today United Airlines is offering 500 miles for signing up for a free MyPoints account, and an additional 1,000 miles after your first $25 in MyPoints portal purchases in the first 30 days.

It looks like MyPoints is another of the many shopping portals out there for earning points and cash-back on your online shopping.

I’m not a fan of United Airlines, but the sign-up is fairly simple:

As a note, one previous user of MyPoints warned me that it’s “essentially a virus” with terrible reviews. I haven’t had any issues with it yet, but this is definitely something to consider. Here is the BBB page on MyPoints, which includes some warnings and ratings.
